Why use props in photography?
Monday, May 21st, 2007With todays technology making photo taking affordable for most people props can make your business stand out AND grow. We work with many professional photographers and some tell us that it is hard to stay competitive with all the small “want to be photographers” popping up all over the country. This is what I have found. As with any business you have to invest in the “tools of the trade”. Cameras, lighting, backdrops and props. The first three are obvious but many forget to add props. Even something simple like a weird looking chair or something from an antique shop. Old road signs add class to any serior portrait session. Posing blocks, steps, a simple ladder can be great for families. For kids, sit them in or beside a bowl with some flour on their face and some cooking tools scattered around the bowl or in their small hands. Awesome! Props WILL set you apart in this competitive market and will help you grow your business.
I wish you the best!
